If you have osteoporosis the risk of developing a fracture in your lifetime is 1 in 4 for women and 1 in 8 for men.

Who is at Risk?
Some people are more likely to develop osteoporosis than others. The more risk factors you have, the greater your risk for developing the disease.

• Advanced age
• Females
• White or Asian origin

• Menopause before age 45

How do I know if I have Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is called “the silent thief” because it gradually robs bones of strength over time. Often there are no symptoms until a fracture occurs. A Bone Mineral Density Test is the most accurate test for diagnosing osteoporosis. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent or reverse the disease.
